Chiefs Deal Airmen 4-0 Defeat
|
The Caldwell Chiefs knocked off the Alameda Airmen, 4-0, at Pipers Ballpark. Ogai Ine was a big reason Caldwell won. The designated hitter was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ahvo Lumme, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Caldwell has a record of 8-7.
With Caldwell leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Ine came up to bat against Alameda pitcher Mark Bowden. Ine hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Chiefs on top, 4-0.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Gonzalo Féliz.
