Bulls Best Gallos in Pitching Duel
|
The Belleville Bulls got a stellar effort from pitcher Walt Gregory, helping Belleville score a win over the visiting Delmarva Gallos, 2-1. Belleville reliever Akihito Ishikawa picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Frank Vetter took the loss. Pierre-Antoine Mauduit earned the save for Belleville, his 3rd of the year.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Daniel O'Halloran was at the plate when Belleville scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Bulls to go in front, 2-1.
"I was a little disappointed," said Delmarva manager Jorge Baca. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
The victory makes Belleville 4-6.
