Vandals Rally For 4-3 Win
|
The Eugene Vandals took Delmarva pitcher José Souza's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Riot Zone. The final score had Eugene getting past the Gallos, 4-3. Souza went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 7. The defeat makes Delmarva 2-1.
A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Vandals sent 22-year-old catcher Bo-young Sonu to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Eugene on top, 4-3.
"This was a good win," said Sonu.
