Yellows Take Down Herons, 4-3
|
The Yucca Valley Yellows downed the Holy City Herons, 4-3, at Mango Yard. The Yellows were led by Stephen Winters. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win belongs to Michael Brown in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Héctor Salas took the loss for Holy City. Dave Froley recorded his 19th save for Yucca Valley.
Winters had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Héctor Salas, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Yellows a 4-3 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Winters.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Winters told the Yucca Valley Daily.
With the victory, the Yellows record now stands at 42-46.
