Mancelona Torch starter Francisco Cortés turned in a sterling performance against the Yucca Valley Yellows, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. The Torch now have a record of 26-57.

Mancelona took a 3-2 lead on Gabriel Salinas's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Salinas hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Yucca Valley pitcher Leon Mannini visibly frustrated.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Yucca Valley manager Ricardo Vásquez.
