Yellows Roll to 9-1 Win Over Torch
|
Another game, another loss for the struggling Mancelona Torch.
The Yucca Valley Yellows got a strong performance from pitcher Eric Hyde, who stymied the Mancelona offense en route to a win, 9-1, at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. Hyde, the winner, moves to 4-7. He threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks.
Stephen Winters swatted a bases-clearing double for Yucca Valley in the bottom of the seventh. The catcher went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 5.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Hyde said.
Mancelona is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 8 in a row.
