Ekene Chukwudi left his imprint on the 4-1 Huntington win against the Matlacha Manatees. Chukwudi, who is tied for 5th in the 3A in RBI with 43, slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Freddy Rosas, who threw 103 pitches over 6.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 3 hits. The Hermit Crabs raised their record to 52-29.
With Huntington leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Chukwudi hit a fastball from Zhong-yi Lo for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Hermit Crabs ahead, 4-1.
Chukwudi told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
