Hermit Crabs Suffer 3-0 Setback
|
The Matlacha Manatees took Huntington pitcher Ricardo Ávila's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Fuller Park. The final score had Matlacha getting past the Hermit Crabs, 3-0. Ávila went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 11. Joe Long snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 2-1 on the season. The triumph makes Matlacha 25-54.
Matlacha took a 1-0 lead on Cliff Baldwin's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Huntington pitcher José Núñez in the bottom of the eighth.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Huntington manager Rodrige Margalha.
