Behind a solid performance from catcher Enrique Pérez, the Mancelona Torch defeated the Chicago Tula, 5-3. Pérez was 2-2 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Torch. Eugene Blake was credited with the save for Mancelona, his 9th of the season. Mancelona, with the win, climbs to 25-49.
Mancelona took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Matt Banks stroked a 2-run single to make it 5-3, Torch.
Pérez told a Mancelona Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
