Bush Pilots Squelch Yellows Offense in Shutout Win
|
Eric Hyde pitched well, but his team, the Yucca Valley Yellows, still dropped a 4-0 decision to the Alaskan Bush Pilots at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. Juan Nevárez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Eric Hyde was tagged with the loss. Yucca Valley, at 30-40, has lost 4 straight.
Alaskan used the timely hitting of William Chapman to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bush Pilots on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Yucca Valley manager Ricardo Vásquez.
