Airmen Snag 2-0 Win
|
Fans of the Alameda Airmen who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Alameda win over the visiting Belleville Bulls, 2-0. Mario Salinas started for the home team against Casper Trout. Casper Trout earned accolades for his performance. The winner was Francisco Ledesma in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gerald Jones took the loss. Edwin Albracht recorded his 1st save for Alameda.
Giuseppe Jacq was 1 for 3 with a walk for Alameda. The 22-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Gerald Jones. It was his 1st walk of the season.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Jacq told the Alameda Today.
