The bats were silent much of the day at Waterfall Park. But Jesús Molina conjured up just enough offense to carry the Expos past the Idaho Falls Chukars, 3-1. Molina went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The Expos raised their record to 27-33.
With Niagara Falls leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Molina hit a run-scoring single off Idaho Falls hurler Francisco Chavarría. It was the 36th hit of the season for Molina and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Niagara Falls manager Mackenzie Bolen said.
