Godfathers Sink Bush Pilots, 5-2

A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Pontiac Godfathers and Alaskan Bush Pilots.
The Pontiac Godfathers got a stellar performance from pitcher Pat Kirkpatrick, who handcuffed the Alaskan offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Bush Pilots Park. Hal Wilson earned save number 15 this season.
Pontiac used a well-timed hit by Jerome Burns to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Godfathers ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Pontiac skipper Allen Yohemas.
The Bush Pilots, now 21-37, have lost 4 straight.
