Pontiac got a strong outing from Chris Morris as the Godfathers defeated the Washington Generals, 3-1, at Washington Park. Morris got the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Morris allowed no runs. Hal Wilson sewed up the save, his 14th.

Pontiac used the timely hitting of David Sterling to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Godfathers on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Every loss hurts," said Washington manager Nathan Horton. "But this was a tough one."

The Godfathers now have a record of 24-27.
