Manatees Walk It Off for 16th Win of Season
|
The Matlacha Manatees topped the Niagara Falls Expos, 6-4, in M3L Single A action at Fuller Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Matlacha pitcher Walt Belt. The winner in relief was Jed Chandler. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-1. The Manatees sit in last place in the Menard's A with a record of 16-31.
In the bottom of the 19th inning, Michael Crowder won the game for the Manatees, walloping a 2-run home run. For the game, Crowder was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"This place was rocking at the end," Belt said.
