Pontiac Copperdome was the site for M3L Single A action featuring the Mancelona Torch and Pontiac Godfathers.
The Pontiac Godfathers picked up a win at Pontiac Copperdome, knocking off the Mancelona Torch, 3-0. On the mound for Pontiac was left-hander Francisco Rodríguez, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Rodríguez, now 5-3. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. Julián García recorded the save, his 3rd.
Pontiac took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lance Guy stroked a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Godfathers.
"It's not about individual awards," Guy told a Pontiac Gazette reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
The Godfathers go to 22-20, putting them 5th in the Menard's A.
