The Huntington Hermit Crabs took Pontiac pitcher Chris Morris's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Shell. The final score had Huntington getting past the Godfathers, 9-6. Morris went 0 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 0. The 'W' lifts Huntington's record to 21-17.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Hermit Crabs sent 22-year-old second baseman Chip Smith to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put Huntington on top, 7-6.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Smith said. "We did a good job of that today."
