Both teams had their chances, but the Minnesota Loons eventually prevailed.
In a low-scoring affair between the Minnesota Loons and the Billings Polar Bears, pitcher Sidney Jones was the difference between victory and defeat. The Minnesota right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Loons win. The Loons have an impressive 61-39 record.
Minnesota relied on the hitting of Shane Burge to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Loons on top, 3-1. For the game, Burge had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Billings manager Steve Ferguson. "The effort was great."
