McKnight Hits 2 home runs in Pierogis Win
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis defeated the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 6-1, at Mercer Island Grounds today. Leading the charge for Squirrel Hill was right fielder Arnie McKnight. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Bill Bray, the winner, improved to 8-4. He held the Screaming Eagles to 1 run on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. At 53-44, the Pierogis claim 5th place in the Premier AA.

With Squirrel Hill leading 1-0 in the top of the second, McKnight hit a cutter from Jerry Gordon for a 3-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Pierogis ahead, 4-0.

"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said McKnight.
