The Ithaca Fighting Imps got a superb performance from right fielder Paul Brown. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Minnesota. The Loons won the game, 7-6. Brown was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Reliever Waweru Kamili picked up the win. His record improves to 2-2. Emery Kehler took the loss. Minnesota, at 59-38, occupies third place in the Premier AA.

Minnesota used the timely hitting of César García to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Loons on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," García said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
