Screaming Eagles Beat Polar Bears, 7-1
|
Francisco Encarnación was superb against Billings. The right-hander had a forkball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Screaming Eagles victory. The score was 7-1. Jorge Vásquez snagged the win in relief. In 4 innings, the left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He's now 4-1 on the season. Mercer Island goes to 66-29. The win puts them 8 games up in their division.
Brian Neame tagged a home run off Jake Walker in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run blast put the Screaming Eagles on top, 2-0. In all, Neame had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I thought we were prepared," Billings manager Steve Ferguson said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
