Bill Bray could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Squirrel Hill Pierogis lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Billings Polar Bears at The Igloo. Stanley Curtiss, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Richard Kinmont was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.

The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the first inning, when the Polar Bears were trailing 1-0. Ricardo Hoera delivered a two-out 2-run home run for Billings, catapulting his team into the lead.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Hoera told the Billings Daily News. "Whatever it takes."

Billings is last in the Premier AA with a record of 24-65.
