A good performance from catcher Javier Alejo helped the Minnesota Loons defeat the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 4-3. Alejo went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Loons. The save went to Warren Norton, number 3 for him. The 8th-place Thunder Hawks have dropped 5 straight games.
Minnesota used the timely hitting of Shane Burge to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Loons on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
