Thunder Come Up Short at Squirrel Hill, 2-1
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis eked out a 2-1 win versus the St. Petersburg Thunder at Field of the Rawhides. Nobody did more than pitcher Juan Rodríguez. He was terrific. In 8 innings, Rodríguez surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Laionela Pualani sewed up the save, his 11th.

Júlio Flores hit a run-scoring double off Steve Cooley in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Pierogis in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Flores had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
