Polar Bears Saddle Krewe with 5-2 Loss
|
The Crescent City Krewe and Billings Polar Bears met at Field of the Krewe to settle a score.
The Polar Bears grabbed a win, 5-2, at Field of the Krewe, overcoming a fine effort from Crescent City pitcher Jessie Wolfe. Wolfe went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Billings is in last place in the Premier AA with a record of 14-49.
Billings used a timely hit from Bob Sykes to get the win. The center fielder delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Polar Bears on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Sykes told the Billings Daily News.
