Alaskan Gets 3-0 Win
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Alaskan Bush Pilots and the Matlacha Manatees. Alaskan won it, 3-0. Alaskan starter León Berroa was in command. Eric Cummings, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. Matlacha, now 3-11, continues its tough start.
Alaskan used a timely hit from Roberto Valentín to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bush Pilots ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Berroa.
