Ft. Polk South pitcher Vicente Valentín did his part in helping his team beat the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 9-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Valentín picked up the win for Ft. Polk South, going 6 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-9. Lloyd Anderson got credit for the save for Ft. Polk South. It was his 5th of the year.

Ft. Polk South used a well-timed hit by José Mondragon to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Thunder Hawks ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Mondragon said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
