Cattlemen Earn 5-4 Win Versus Patriots
|
Ft. Worth rode a decent outing from starter Joe Wagner to victory over the Boston Patriots. The final score was 5-4. Ft. Worth reliever Mike Davidson got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Luke Corner was tagged with the loss. Marc Potts notched his 10th save in 14 chances.
In the top of the first, Ft. Worth designated hitter Werner Hayes had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Hayes stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-0, Ft. Worth. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Boston manager Tyler Carter. "But we decided not to take it."
