Vancouver Slaps 4-2 Loss on 84s
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves picked up a win at 84s Field, knocking off the Greenville 84s, 4-2. Starting pitcher Yaichiro Shini played a key role in the triumph. In 6.1 innings, Shini surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. With the victory, the Grey Wolves record now stands at 51-45.
Vancouver relied on the hitting of Luzvimindo Layug to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to put the Grey Wolves on top, 3-0. For the game, Layug had 1 triple and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Vancouver skipper David Krause. "I can't complain."
