Streaking Pierogis Win Another One, 2-1
|
The Squirrel Hill Pierogis got a stellar effort from pitcher Jonathan Lynch, helping Squirrel Hill score a win over the visiting Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 2-1. Carlos Vázquez recorded his 2nd save for Squirrel Hill. The losses continue to mount for Ft. Polk South, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Grant Hahn had a big hit for Squirrel Hill in the bottom of the second inning. With Squirrel Hill trailing 1-0, Hahn hit a 2-run double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Pierogis up, 2-1.
"The vibe's good," said Squirrel Hill manager Carlos Soto. "We've got to keep it going."
