Spillman, Loons Too Much for Thunder
The St. Petersburg Thunder and Minnesota Loons were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Minnesota second baseman Bill Spillman had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the St. Petersburg Thunder, 5-1. Minnesota starter Dionísio Zagallo was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 7.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-2.

Spillman had a key at-bat for Minnesota early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Minnesota an early 2-0 lead.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Spillman told the Minnesota Daily.

The 6th-place Loons sport a record of 10-11.
