Fighting Imps Best Screaming Eagles in Pitching Duel
The Ithaca Fighting Imps went home winners at Mercer Island Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Wan-hua Yi. Yi stifled the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, enabling Ithaca to grab the 2-1 win. Denny Schneider was credited with the save for Ithaca, his 6th of the season. Ithaca is off to a hot start at 13-6.

Ithaca used a well-timed hit by Darryl Stansberry to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Fighting Imps ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Stansberry told the Ithaca Herald: "I was born for the big stage."
