Sánchez Shines in 6-3 Mercer Island Win
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles grabbed a win, 6-3, over the Asheville Highlanders at Asheville Park. Mercer Island right fielder Víctor Sánchez was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Mercer Island reliever Pedro Salazar picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Andy Johnson was tagged with the loss. The hot start continues for the defending champion Screaming Eagles. This was their 9th win in 13 games.

There was more than one reason the Screaming Eagles beat the Highlanders, but Sánchez's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 2-1 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.

"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said Sánchez.
