Virginia Beach Whales starter Tim Moore pitched his team past the Providence Pilgrims, 5-0. Moore got the win, improving to 11-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Moore allowed no runs. Virginia Beach now sits in 8th place in the Silver AA at 47-51.
The Whales got a big hit from designated hitter Esteban Reyes. In the top of the fifth, Reyes pounded a 2-run home run to left. His 14th home run of the season put the Whales ahead, 5-0.
Reyes told the Virginia Beach News: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
