Miners Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Whales, 6-3
In the 6-3 Marquette win over Virginia Beach, the impact of Michael Young was substantial. Young, who is tied for 6th in the SAA in runs scored with 60, was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Edgardo Gutiérrez got the save, the 5th for him this season. At 47-48, the Miners claim 7th place in the Silver AA.

Marquette used the timely hitting of Gregg Curtis to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Miners on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Curtis said after the game.
