Atoms Reel Off Another Win
|
The Bethesda Atoms extended their winning streak.
The Bethesda Atoms defeated the Providence Pilgrims, 6-3, in USSL Double A action at Field of Plenty. Bethesda pitcher Robby MacGregor had a standout performance. MacGregor, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Felipe González earned the save for Bethesda, his 26th of the year.
Bethesda used a well-timed hit by Chang-yong Hann to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Atoms ahead, 4-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said MacGregor.
Bethesda's winning streak has reached 6 games.
