Virginia Beach Grabs 4-2 Road Win

The Virginia Beach Whales picked up a win at Mobile Home Park, taking down the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 4-2. Starting pitcher Tim Moore was a big reason why. Carlos Mejía was called on to finish, recording his 21st save. The 8th-place Whales are now 41-47, the Turbeaus 46-42.
Virginia Beach used the timely hitting of Esteban Reyes to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Whales on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Virginia Beach manager Marv Bradford applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
