Orpen Helps Hops Beat Miners, 7-1
|
Brian Orpen was a major factor in the 7-1 Yakima win over Marquette. The Hops center fielder belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Fernando Fonseca, the winner, goes to 9-5. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6.1 innings. Yakima is now 47-40.
Orpen had a big hit for Yakima with one out in the bottom of the eighth. With Yakima leading 4-1, Orpen hit a 3-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Hops up, 7-1.
"We did a lot of things right," said Orpen.
