Atoms Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Fat Cats
|
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Tucker Horne, the Bethesda Atoms defeated the Ottawa Fat Cats, 10-6. Horne went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Atoms. Kyle Young earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 2-4. Ryan Burton closed the door for Bethesda, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Bethesda took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Bryant Warner hit a 2-run single to make it 8-6, Atoms.
In comments to the Bethesda Gazette, Warner admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
Bethesda goes to 43-43, Ottawa to 40-46.
