Ottawa Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
The Ottawa Fat Cats gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.
The Ottawa Fat Cats dealt the Yakima Hops a 5-3 loss at Nationals Park. Bill Martin was the star on offense. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jesús Sánchez snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 2-5 on the season.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Martin hit a fastball from Kelly McCarthy for a 2-run home run. The Fat Cats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This place was jumping at the end," Martin said.
At 40-44, the Fat Cats claim 7th place in the Silver AA.
