Miners Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Pilgrims, 2-1
|
Marquette Miners starter Micah Boulton worked his magic, as he helped his team defeat the Providence Pilgrims, 2-1. Mario Ledezma came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-5. The Miners improved to 31-36.
Marquette used the clutch hitting of Weldon Gentry to capture the win. The catcher drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Miners the lead, 2-1. For the game, Gentry had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Gentry.
