The Olympia Ogres turned back the Virginia Beach Whales, 4-3, at The Ogre Den. Luis Tañón, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Sergio Carrasco collected save number 5. The Ogres, at 37-29, lead by one game in their division.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Mal McGrath was at the plate when Olympia scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Ogres to go in front, 4-3.
