Turbeaus Topple Eclipse, 5-3

The Gulf Coast Turbeaus defeated the Northville Eclipse, 5-3, in USSL Double A action at Old-Timers Park. Gulf Coast pitcher António Miranda had a standout performance. Miranda went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-5. Otis Luhgow recorded the save for Gulf Coast, his 16th of the season.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Turbeaus had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fourth, when center fielder Juan Suarze hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Fokke Kaspers and made the score 3-2, Turbeaus. Suarze went 2 for 5 with 2 singles.
"We'll try to build on that win," Suarze told the Gulf Coast Chronicle.
Gulf Coast is now 30-33.
