The Ogre Den was the site for USSL Double A action featuring the Olympia Ogres and Virginia Beach Whales.

The Virginia Beach Whales got a good effort from starter Lonnie Slaughter in defeating the Olympia Ogres at The Ogre Den. The final score was 5-2. Virginia Beach is in 9th place in the Silver AA with a record of 22-29.

The Whales got a lift from shortstop Mibre Chipley, who in the top of the second stroked a 1-0 knuckleball into left for a 2-run single. It was his 27th hit of the season and put the Whales ahead, 2-0.

"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Slaughter. "Successful pitchers do it."
