Turbeaus Snag 9-4 Win
|
With shortstop Robert Lancaster leading the charge, the Gulf Coast Turbeaus defeated the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 9-4, at Mobile Home Park. Lancaster, who is tied for 9th in the SAA with a .397 on-base percentage, was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Gulf Coast reliever Alfredo Ramos picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Xavier Manning took the loss. With the win over Chesapeake, the Turbeaus improved to 17-19.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Lancaster delivered big-time for Gulf Coast, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Pancho Caro. The game-changing hit put the Turbeaus on top, 6-4.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Lancaster said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
