Piranhas Nip Cattlemen, 4-3
|
Ft. Worth got a decent performance from pitcher Tony Cowan, but it wasn't enough to beat the Panama City Piranhas. Panama City won the The Cattle Pen contest, 4-3. Cowan threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Panama City reliever Rob Green picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Mike Davidson absorbed the loss. Jeffrey Strickland closed the door for Panama City, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Dwayne Foll chipped in for Panama City, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4 with 2 walks.
"Winning makes the heart grow fonder -- for more winning," said Foll, cracking a smile.
