Cangrejos Fantasmas Deal Whales 6-5 Setback
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas weathered a fine game by Virginia Beach center fielder Andrew King to upend the Whales, 6-5, at Virginia Beach Grounds. King was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jim Jesse sewed up the save, his 3rd. With this game in the books, Chesapeake is 15-11, Virginia Beach 9-17.

Chesapeake used a well-timed hit by Gale Boetticher to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cangrejos Fantasmas ahead, 5-4. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Boetticher told the Chesapeake Gazette.
