Miners Topple Pilgrims, 6-5, as Osborne Shines
The Marquette Miners beat the Providence Pilgrims, 6-5, at Marquette Stadium. Thurman Osborne, in particular, was impressive. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Moana Yani got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6 and walking 5. The Pilgrims fall to 6-11 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2054 season.

With Marquette leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Osborne hit a slider from Gary McIldowie for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Miners ahead, 4-1.

"We found a way to get it done," Osborne said.
