Pilgrims Down Miners, 7-5
|
Marquette center fielder Michael Young had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-5, to Providence at Marquette Stadium. Young was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. José Márquez picked up the save, his 4th. The Miners fall to 5-11.
Providence used the bat of Artie Stanley to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Pilgrims ahead, 7-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Stanley.
