|
The Virginia Beach Whales downed the Ottawa Fat Cats, 6-4. The hitting star was designated hitter Jesús Rivera. Rivera went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Whales. Ottawa is 4-3 after the loss.
With Virginia Beach leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Rivera hit a splitter from Johnny Chambers for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Whales ahead, 5-2.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Rivera said after the game.
